Collector Sarfraz asked to make early recovery of arrears from tax defaulters

MULTAN: Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich attended the meeting of the Chief Collector Samaira Nazir held at her office at Model Customs Collectorate Lahore on Tuesday.

Four Collectors from Multan, Faisalabad and Lahore were present here on Tuesday. The agenda of the meeting was to discuss the revenue measures for future in the third and fourth quarter of the economic year.

Chief Collector directed collectors of the region to attain revenue targets for the economic year. Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich also briefed Chief  Collector about the revenue collection of the MCC Multan in first two quarters of the current fiscal year. Collector said that Multan Dry Port is the only port in the South Punjab  for the import and export handling of the batches in the region but due to delay in the construction of Sher Shah mass transportation hub the port’s matters are disturbed. Audit of import clearance through WEBOC to measure the transparency also came under discussion during the meeting.

Chief Collector directed Collector Sarfraz to make early recovery of arrears from defaulters in order to collect taxes. Collector also briefed about manufacturing bond certificate and DTRE audit during the meeting. MCC Multan is the second biggest revenue collection collectorate in Pakistan after Karachi due to import of huge volume of High Speed Diesel through Multan Dry Port.

Collector Sarfraz Ahmad Warraich informed Chief Collector about major reasons in the decline of the revenue collection which is decrease in the international prices of High Speed Diesel. Chief Collector directed all collectors in meeting to accomplish their revenue targets.
