ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Adjudication Collector Seema Raza Bukhari has issued orders to impound Land Cruiser V-8 Model 2009 for tampering with chassis number. The vehicle belonged to Muhammad Riaz s/o Abdul Samad, a resident of Mohmand Agency.
The collector has issued order-in-original 85/2014 in case number 20/2014 and said the owner had failed to produce legal documents and duty tax.
The Islamabad forensic lab in its report said that the chemical examination of the vehicle revealed that alignment of the chassis number was not normal.
The vehicle was impounded from Karachi Company Islamabad by Inspector Mubeen Akhtar on a tip-off received by the assistant collector investigation and prosecution. As the car bore Khyber Pakhtunkhwa number plate (BC-7362) so the motor registration authority in Peshawar was contacted in this regard. However, no reply has been received from the authority so far. The vehicle is registered in the name of Bilal Khan s/o Hazrat Noor, a resident of University Town Peshawar.
