ISLAMABAD: Model Customs Collectorate Adjudication Collector Seema Raza Bukhari has ordered to seize Toyota Land Cruiser V-8 model 2008 after getting forensic evidence of tampered chassis number.
The owner Rehan Mohsin who belongs to Quetta got the car through amnesty scheme after paying Rs 4.6 million duty.
Collector Seema made it clear in the order-in-original 86 that the facility was given only for the smuggled cars under SRO-172(1)2013 not for the cars having tampered chassis. Qazi Muhammad Naeem was the counsel of accused while MCC Investigation and Prosecution Deputy Superintendent Saeed Ahmed was prosecutor. The prosecutor said that no car with tampered chassis has been released under the SRO. He gave references from the previous cases. After hearing arguments from both sides, the collector gave order for the seizure.
