Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltistan posts 38.89 percent growth

GILGIT-BALTISTAN: The Collectorate of Gilgit-Baltistan collected an extra amount of all duties and taxes of Rs61million during half of a month of December Financial Year 2017-18.

According to details given by Ali Raza, Collector Model Customs Collectorate Gilgit-Baltistan, while talking with Customs Today that, during first 15 days of December FY17-18, the GB demonstrated a tremendous performance under all the heads. During said period, the GB received exceeded revenue of Rs217million against an assigned proportional revenue target of Rs156million. The GB got Rs218million under the same head during corresponding first 15 days of December FY16-17.
The Collector of MCC GB told CT that, during above said period, the GB displayed 38.89% growth against an allocated proportional revenue target of all the heads whereas it demonstrated-0.64% increase against the revenue collection against the same period of previous 15 days of December FY16-17.
He told the correspondent that the collectorate earned Rs82million of Customs Duty (CD) against an earmarked proportional revenue collection target of Rs81million. The GB generated Rs97million under the same head during the same period of corresponding FY16-17.
He notified CT that the GB got Rs96million as Sales Tax (ST) against an assigned proportional revenue target of Rs56million during 15 days of December FY17-18 while the Collectorate of GB generated Rs72million under the same head during the same period of previous FY16-17.
Ali explained to the correspondent that the GB collected Rs37million of With Holding Tax (WHT) during initial 15 days of December FY17-18 while it was allocated a revenue collection target of Rs29million. The GB earned Rs26million under the same head during 15 days of corresponding December FY16-17.
