KARACHI: The officials of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) up to BS 16 have expressed concerns over the violation of estacode in connection with the non-issuance of seniority list of the officials.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in the history of Pakistan Customs Services (PCS) has not yet issued any seniority list of the officials up to BS-16.

One of the officials, while sharing his view point with Customs Today, said that he has not been awarded a single-step promotion in his 20-years of services in Customs Department, which is a matter of great distress.

Most of the officials up to Grade-BS 16 were of the view that the FBR should issue a seniority list of the officials at least once in a 5-year, so that they should have hope of their due promotion.

They were further said that the estacode rules are clearly stated that the seniority list of the officials should be issued by the FBR at some specific time. However; those rules are not being followed since long in the Department of Customs.

It is pertinent to mention here that the FBR recently has issued a seniority list of around 177 Civil Servants (CSP) officers, which also increases the agony of the officials, as they are desperately waiting for the seniority list belonging to them.

“The issuance of CSP officers’ seniority list by the FBR is a sheer injustice with the officials up to Grade BS-16, as they are rightly deserved for their due promotion according to their seniority list”, they lamented.

They requested the authorities concerned of FBR to issue the seniority list of the officials, so that the sense of deprivation could be eliminated from them.
