NEW DELHI: Enterprise mobile messaging and collaboration firm Convo unveiled Tuesday mobile iOS and Android versions of its collaboration platform.
The redesigned mobile app comes a week after the firm launched a major overhaul of its web and desktop collaboration platform.
The mobile app includes instant search for emails, chats, documents, and posts; the ability to share photos and links; simplified editing and managing profiles; customized notifications; and enhanced group management, enabling privacy and permission setting for groups.
Convo said more than 40 percent of its large enterprise customers already used its collaboration platform on mobile devices, with that number likely passing 50 percent by 2018.
The mobile app is “optimized for larger screens to put important stuff right at your fingertips,” Ryan McDonald, director of product management at Convo, explained in a blog post.
“Start a post with ease from the new tab bar. See high-quality previews of every photo attachment. Focus on the conversation – the header bar gets out of your way as you scroll down your news feed. The new design also extends under the hood to make things even faster, so all your updates are delivered in real time,” McDonald wrote.
Regarding the instant search function, McDonald explained how it works. “Start typing and watch Convo magically auto complete search results from your posts, links, and chat messages, or click to quickly jump to a particular teammate or group. A history of your searches helps you easily access the ones you use most. Powerful filter options complete the package to make finding any conversation a breeze.
Convo CEO Faizan Buzdar told FierceMobileIT that the instant search feature was developed in response to customer feedback. For customers, “Convo becomes the knowledge base. … If you need information about a customer or company name, you search Convo for more details,” he said.
Buzdar stressed that all of the data on the Convo app is encrypted and that the app provides network administrators with controls over user management, data and IP domains on the network.
The mobile app is available for download on the App Store and Google Play.
