Accountability Court grants 16-day physical remand of 7 suspects in mega land scam

LAHORE: Accountability Court Lahore approved 16 days physical remand of seven suspects who were arrested by the National Accountability Bureau Lahore in a land scam.

The Accountability Court has ordered to produce them before the court after the completion of investigations regarding their fraud and corruption in government employees housing society Gujranwala.

The arrested persons include Fakhar ul Zaman, Yaqib Loona, Zaka ullah Bhatti, Tariq Ashraf Chaudary, Mian Ghulam Ali, Naveed Shaukat and Chaudhary Ghulam Ali.

According to the authorities, Irrigation Housing Society was formed in 2012 on GT Road by the coalition of Irrigation Department. A large amount of money was collected from the people seeking to buy a plot.

Besides this, after the allotment of plots, the process to attain installments was also underway.
