LAHORE: ‘Corrupt’ customs officials like Khalid Umer and Dost Mohammad are personally targeting the genuine importers who refused to pay bribe to these unscrupulous elements. Hundreds of importers are threatened by these deceitful officials through different methods to pay the amounts or shift their businesses to other countries.

Sources confirmed these importers find no other option but to finally knock the doors of the courts and lodge more than 100 FIRs against these corrupt officials.

Sources claimed that these officials also pay huge amounts to an illegal website to serve their purpose and put pressure on genuine importers through publishing of unverified news items. Importers demand prompt action against this website as it is also being used to defame honest and most senior customs and FBR officials. Running such dubious news website only for fulfilling blackmailing agenda is entirely ‘criminal’ in nature.

Sources said that actual owners of this illegal website are some ‘corrupt’ customs officials like Khalid Umer and Dost Mohammad who provide their full backing and support to it. Such customs staff mafia is using a frontman to run and manage the illegal website. These ‘corrupt’ officers threaten the genuine importers to pay bribe to them otherwise they will publish news against them on their website.

An illiterate frontman as owner of the news website tells the whole story itself. Only an experienced journalist can differentiate between fake and real news and cannot be used as a tool in hands of corrupt customs officials like Khalid Umer and Dost Mohammad.

Sources said these ‘corrupt’ officers run their illegal website merely to blackmail importers and their senior customs officials.

Sources said importers from different cities of the country have decided to lodge more than 100 FIRs against this ‘criminal’ website and their beneficiaries including customs officials like Khalid Umer, Port Qasim and Dost Mohammad, Karachi East, who are using this illegal website to blackmail importers.
