Corruption and misconduct wouldn’t be tolerated: Ali Zeb

SIALKOT: Gujranwala Deputy Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Ali Zeb Khan has said that corruption and misconduct by any subordinate official will not be tolerated in the department.

He said that Director General Shaukat Ali has instructed him to dismiss any official if he is found involved in corruption and misconduct. The department will not give him right of appeal.

Talking to the officials of the department at Gujranwala, Ali said that the all the officials should perform their duties honestly because the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) needs better performance and good results. He said that the performance of the officials is getting better day by day and all the officials are working properly.

He said that the field officers should not accept any pressure to release impounded non-customs paid vehicles rather register cases against impounded vehicles and refer before the Adjudication Court for proceeding. The court will announce judgment then department auction of impounded vehicles according to policy of FBR and Customs Act 1969 because the earning of auction make a cause to strengthen the national economy. He said that the department is playing vital role to curb smuggling while this department has tighten nose around the smugglers in Gujranwala Region whereas department will end smuggling from the Region soon.
