LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling heard 21 important cases on Friday and recorded statements and issued necessary actions regarding all cases.
On Friday, at least 21 cases were scheduled for hearing, including pre-arrest bail pleas of accused as well. While in a case Muhammad Rizwan, who is on judicial remand, had also filed a petition for bail which was scheduled on Friday. During the hearing, the special court has listened arguments of the parties but after that the court decided to adjourn the plea for next week. The court has also asked the Customs authorities to provide more proofs and further data regarding the smuggling of gold.
Rizwan was arrested by the authorities from Lahore airport while making attempt to smuggle 11 kilograms of gold to Gulf state.
Meanwhile cases, including tax evasion, customs, smuggling and narcotics, were scheduled for the day. The court also proceeded on statements and witnesses on five different cases for today. Attendance of accused in 6 cases was also scheduled in the Court of Chauhdary Ameer Muhammad Khan.
