Court asks FIA to arrest Dr Shahid Masood

ISLAMABAD: Special Judge (Central) Irum Niazi, while issuing bailable arrest warrants of former PTV managing director (MD) and anchorperson Dr Shahid Masood in PTV corruption case, ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to arrest the accused and present him before the court.

There was an allegation of corruption and misuse of powers against Dr Shahid Masood when he was PTV MD and FIA registered case against him after investigations. However, Dr Shahid Masood secured bail before being arrested from the court of Special Judge (Central).

Special Judge (Central) Islamabad on Friday conducted hearing of the case against Dr Shahid Masood pertaining to corruption in PTV. Dr Shahid Masood himself neither appeared in the court nor was any petition filed on his behalf for exemption from appearing in the court. Upon this, the court expressed annoyance.

The court while dismissing the bail before arrest of Dr Shahid Masood issued bailable arrest warrants and ordered FIA to arrest him and present before the court.
