LAHORE: The Special Court of Customs Taxation and Anti-Smuggling has extended judicial remand of a suspect who was arrested by Customs authorities Faisalabad in a case of cloth smuggling.
Earlier, he was produced before the court where the Customs Court accepted his judicial remand for 14 days.
The accused was booked during a raid at a warehouse following the recovery of huge quantity of smuggled cloth worth Rs 8 million by Customs Intelligence. The cloth was smuggled from Afghanistan and was being sent to local markets.
The Faisalabad Customs again presented the accused before the court, seeking extension in his judicial remand and the court accepted the Customs authorities’ plea and extended the remand.
