CPEC to serve as lifeline for national economy: RCCI

RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry(RCCI) President Raja Amer Iqbal Monday said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is crucial for country’s economic stability  and prosperity.

He said CPEC is a mega development initiative regarded a game changer for the country and the region.

The project, he said shows the eternal friendship and strategic partnership between Pakistan and China and will serve as a lifeline for our economy,he added.

Amer urged the government to announce a domestic business plan along the route of the CPEC in consultation with the chambers, so that domestic investor can reap maximum benefit of the project.

“We appreciate the government efforts for CPEC which has opened opportunities for industrial cooperation between the two friendly countries. However, it is our opinion that CPEC committee or CPEC Business Wing should be established to safeguard the existing local industry as well as international investors”.

Highlighting the prospects for the technical manpower he said as industrial and trade activities would enhance under the project it would pave the way for employment opportunities for the people.
