Credit card purchases rise sharply by 31.6pc in August 2025

KARACHI: Data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) revealed that credit card purchases and payments reached Rs169 billion in August 2025, which marked a 31.6 per cent increase compared with August last year.

Consumers had spent Rs128 billion via credit cards in August 2024. The monthly comparison showed a 3.6 per cent growth in August 2025 over July, when credit card transactions totalled Rs163 billion.
