HAVANA: “The Bayer company is one of the foreign companies with strongest ties to the development of Cuba, where the agricultural industry is key for the economy”, said Omar Fernandez, secretary general of the Chamber of Commerce.
The German company, with 120 years of relations with Cuba, has a history of trade very close to the agricultural sector.
Bayer, currently made up of institutions of production and services, is one of the main innovators in the world, amid companies that develop sciences related to farming, pesticides, control of plagues, production of seeds, plant biotechnology, chemicals for agriculture and genetic engineering of food.
Fernandez described Bayer as a serious and committed supplier, he also said that the company is expected to continue in Cuba to ensure the basic supplies for medicines, a path hindered by the obstacles set by third countries to the trade.
Patricia Spat, deputy director of Bayer in Cuba, told the Prensa Latina news agency that through 120 years the company has achieved great success and learned many lessons, and also that they will be always willing to offer their help to improve quality of life.
