Culprit is Apple itself: iPads images leaked before launch

SINGAPORE: Apple accidentally leaked images and specifications of iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 2 before its official launch.

According to a US tech blog, images of the upcoming iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 were featured in the iOS 8.1 iPad User Guide appeared within iBooks.

Besides revealing images of the devices, details such as incorporating the TouchID sensor for both devices were disclosed too, but Apple removed the page about an hour later.

Apple is expected to unveil thinner and more powerful iPads today, even as it tries to hold on to its grip of the tablet market as more phablets muscle in on the particular device category.
