WASHINGTON: Shipping executives from across the region are making preparations to attend the Caribbean Shipping Association’s 16th Caribbean Shipping Executives Conference hosted by the Curaçao Ports Authority in the beautiful city of Willemstad, Curaçao. This annual conference attracts regional decision makers of the shipping, cargo, cruise, and port industries. From May 8 to 10, 2017 delegates will hear thought leaders in the shipping and maritime industries discuss best practices on topics such as value deployment, cyber security and inspection and compliance delivered by some of the industry’s most articulate speakers and presenters.
The conference will be held at the Renaissance Curacao Resort and Casino which is built around the historic Rif Fort. Built in 1828 to defend Willemstad’s 18th century Otrobanda district, Rif Fort is world reknown for its old-world Dutch charm and hospitality. Among the featured speakers a this year’s executive’s conference is head of maritime security at the International Maritime Organisation, (IMO) Javier Yasnikouski , who will be making a presentation on the latest developments on maritime security at the IMO. An experienced international presenter, Yasnikouski has made presentations across the world on behalf of the IMO on various security-related topics. Also among the speakers is Paul Morrison, a knowledable auditor in the fields of shipping and international transportation.
