KARACHI: The current account for February 2015 showed a surplus of $877 million helping the deficit reduce its weight while the deficit fell to $1.614 billion in July-February eight-month period of 2014-15, as per the State Bank of Pakistan

In spite of high inflows and much better foreign exchange reserves the current account has been a source of concern for the government. The current account deficit was $2.453bn in the same period of last fiscal year while the total deficit was $3.129bn in 2013-14. It shows that January 2015 posted a current account deficit of $74m.
