Customs Court directs IO to file final challan in tax evasion case

KARACHI: Customs Court Judge Syed Faiz Rasool Rashdi has directed the investigation officer to complete the investigation and file a final challan against suspects, Muhammad Yaseen, Abdul Ghafar, Muhammad Farooq and Muhammad Saleem, who are arrested in a case of evasion of duties and taxes to the tune of Rs. 23, 530, 598/.

During the hearing, Muhammad Yaseen, Abdul Ghafar and Muhammad Farooq appeared before the court on interim bail, however, accused Muhammad Saleem was called absent. At this movement, investigation officer Muhammad Farhat Jaffri submitted that challan has not been completed as Saleem has yet not joined the investigation. Therefore, the court directed the accused persons to join the investigation and adjourned the hearing for October 19, 2016.
