Custom House wears deserted on last working day ahead of Eid-ul-Azha

KARACHI: The Custom House on Wednesday, being the last working day ahead of Eid-ul-Azha holiday announced by the federal government, gave a deserted look since afternoon as the officials left for their home cities to celebrate Eid.

The offices of the collectors and directors generals remained locked while the lowers staff also enjoyed the half day holiday.

It was found that the entire collectorates of adjudication I and II, located on the eleventh floor of the Custom House, were locked and no one appellant and respondent was present.

The offices of Director Internal Audit, Customs Valuation, Input Output Co-efficient Organization (IOCO), Transit Trade etc were also locked.

Moreover, the offices of chief collector Enforcement-South, chief collector Appraisement-South, collector MCC Appraisement, collector MCC Appraisement-West and collector MCC Exports attended their offices as per routine.
