Custom Preventive foils bid to smuggle 3kg cocaine at JIAP

KARACHI: Collectorate of Custom Preventive has apprehended record huge quantity of smuggled cocaine through Jinnah International Airport worth millions of rupees.

Custom Preventive Deputy Collector Wasif Malik informed media that during the surveillance, a passenger namely Jameel  ur Rehman was intercepted on suspicion at Jinnah International Airport (JIAP) and was inquired regarding the travelling documents, the luggage was also taken into the custody.

The Deputy Collector revealed that during the search of the passenger’s luggage, the staff of Customs Preventive found huge quantity of smuggled three kilograms of cocaine worth Rs60 million in the international market.

Deputy Collector Wasif Malik informed that the passenger arrived Karachi from Dubai through Emirates airline EK-603, who is being investigated and details are being gathered. He also declared that such huge quantity of cocaine has never been smuggled in the history and busting the culprit is a big achievement for the staff reputed at JIAP. The case has been lodged whereas further investigations are underway.
