KINGSTON: Investigators from the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) are now carrying out an operation into tax evasion involving officials of the Jamaica Customs Department.
The operation is part of a wider joint plan involving Manchester, St Elizabeth and St Ann.
Commissioner of Customs Major Richard Reese confirmed the raids to our news centre.
MOCA says the operations are the culmination of an intense investigation by the Revenue Protection Division and itself into a case of tax evasion and suspected breaches of the Customs Act.
It says the operations started about six o’clock this morning and are expected to continue for several hours.
