Customs adjudication collector hears six cases involving Rs69 million duty, taxes

FAISALABAD: Customs Adjudication Collector Mirza Mubashir Baig on Thursday heard six cases against suspects involved in smuggling of Toyota Land Cruiser, Indian origin cloths, Toyota GYGNUS, and F/O aluminum foils for packing of cigarettes.

Sajjad Zain-ul-Abideen was charged with smuggling of foreign origin (F/O) Toyota Land Cruiser, Registration No: ME-1 Islamabad, worth Rs16million. Muhammad Jameel was allegedly involved in duty and taxes evasion of Rs12.1million for smuggling Indian origin cloth into the country through illegal route. Abdul Manan was found involved in smuggling of foreign origin cloths and a vehicle worth Rs15.5million.

Meanwhile, Mirza Mubashir Baig also heard a case of Malik Safwan involved in evading tax of Rs13million for importing of smuggled cloths into the country without paying customs duty. He also heard a case filed against Habib Ullah involved in smuggling of Toyota GYGNUS with registration No: QAM-4218 (Quetta) worth Rs03.6million.

Moreover, the adjudication collector also heard another case against one accused named Mussadaq involved in Rs08.1million case.

All these cases were forwarded by the customs intelligence and investigation, model customs collectorate, field unit ASO Mianwali.
