Customs Adjudication collects Rs 649 million as penalty amount in FY2014-15

Islamabad, Peshawar adjudication hears 1,776 smuggling cases

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Adjudication Islamabad has collected Rs 649.08 million as amount of penalties in financial year 2014-15 while deciding the 355 cases of anti-smuggling.

The adjudication heard cases related to the smuggling of food, clothe, tea, auto parts and mobile phone during the said period.

According to the details, Collector Customs Adjudication, Seema Raza Bokhari heard and decided as many as 63 different types of smuggling cases and recovered Rs 477 million from the accused persons, while Additional Collector Iram M. Aamir collected Rs 95 million in wake of penalty amount by adjudging the 51 cases pertaining to smuggling.

On the other hand, Deputy Collector Adjudication Islamabad, Kaukab Farooq heard and decided 241 different types of smuggling cases and collected Rs 75 million during the fiscal year 2014-15.

Meanwhile, the Customs Adjudication Peshawar has collected Rs 569.8 million in financial year 2014-15, while heard and decided 1,421 anti-smuggling cases.

It is important to mention here that Customs Adjudication of Peshawar and Islamabad regions have collected Rs 1218 million of revenue collectively by deciding the 1,776 smuggling cases.
