Customs Adjudication concludes hearing of 54 cases worth Rs288.387m

MULTAN: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Camp Office has finalized 54 various seizure cases worth Rs288.387 million during October 2018 after completion of their trial.

According to details, Deputy Collector of Customs Adjudication settled 22 seizure cases worth Rs7.489 million after conclusion of trial. As many as 14 new seizure cases of Rs5.361 million were also added in the court of Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication for its legal proceedings during October. These settled seizure cases were framed by Anti-Smuggling Organization and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in their different actions.

Additional Collector Talib Hussain decided 28 various seizure cases of Rs60.014 million during the above-said period. Almost 25 seizure cases were decided in favour of Customs department and verdict of three seizure cases was announced in favour of taxpayers after proceedings.

There were 24 new seizure cases worth Rs42.381 million framed by Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) and Anti-Smuggling Organization submitted for hearing to Additional Collector Adjudication in October.

Collector Customs Adjudication Asif Abbas Buzdar concluded four seizure cases worth Rs220.884 million after trial during October 2018.  Almost three new seizures cases have been added during the month of October for legal proceeding in the Customs Adjudication. Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has accelerated the proceedings of seizure cases to conclude cases in given time and ensure speedy justice with its limited resources.
