MULTAN:The Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office decided 32 various seizure cases of worth Rs24.086 million during the month of November 2017.
According to the details, the Customs Adjudication decided 30 seizure cases formed by Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation during the above said period. Customs Adjudication Deputy Collector Saima Ayyaz has decided most number of seizure cases during November after their trial. Deputy Collector settled as many as 23 various seizure cases formed by Anti-Smuggling Organisation (ASO) and Customs Intelligence and Investigation in their various anti-smuggling activities in the jurisdiction.
These seizure cases were related to evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs8.826 million for the duration of November. These seizure cases include vehicles, tyres, auto parts and miscellaneous goods. Almost 21 new seizure cases of worth Rs.10.50 million has been added in the court of Deputy Collector Customs Adjudication for proceedings for the duration of November.
Additional Collector Customs Adjudication Talib Hussain has decided nine seizure cases of smuggled vehicles and goods worth Rs.15.800 million during said period. As many as 16 fresh seizure cases of vehicles and miscellaneous goods of Rs.30.300 million have been added in the Customs Adjudication for trial. One seizure case was also remanded by Collector Appeal to Additional Collector for re-hearing.
Collector Asif Buzdar has not decided any seizure case after joining his charge to Customs Adjudication and there are six important cases are still under adjudication of Worth Rs.130.639 million.
Customs Adjudication Multan Camp Office has settled all seizure cases in favor of customs department, while no cases were decided in favor of taxpayer.
