Customs Adjudication declares seizure of Land Cruiser legal

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Adjudication Lahore declared a legal confiscation of Land Cruiser V-8 seized by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.

Sources told Customs Today that Customs I&I authorities chased and intercepted the vehicle.  The  driver of the vehicle introduced himself as Sheraz Mufti and on demand of the agency he failed to produce registration and any other document showing legal procession. The authorities took the vehicle in their custody and seized the same in the name of the state. It was reported further that the vehicle was being operated without documents.

Customs Adjudication Collector Zafar Akhtar while giving his verdict on the cases said that he examined the case record and heard the oral argument put forth by the detecting agency, the respondent neither responded to the show cause notice nor do they appear to defend their case.

He said that that the charges leveled against the accused party in the show-cause stands established and consequently he ordered the seizure of Toyota Land Cruiser’s confiscation as legal.
