Customs Adjudication-I adjudicated 70 cases during first quarter of financial year 2016-17

KARACHI: Collector of Customs Adjudication-I Surriya Ahmed Butt called a meeting of the Collectorate at her office on Monday.

The Collector of Customs Adjudication-I asked the officials of the Collectorates, including additional collectors, deputy collectors and assistant collectors, to submit a detailed report of the cases adjudicated by the department and revenue recovered through the cases.

During the meeting, Butt also asked the officials to also submit a comprehensive report of the first quarters from July 2016 to September 2016 about the performance of the Collectorate by the end of this current month.

The sources informed Customs Today that the Collectorate of Customs Adjudication-I has adjudicated around 70 cases altogether during the first quarters of the fiscal year 2016-17, adding that millions of revenue has also been recovered by sending Order-in-Original (ONOs) to the defaulters parties including importers and clearing agents.
