Customs adjudication-II recovers tax evasion from Sehrish Traders

KARACHI: The Customs Adjudication-II has recovered Rs3.45million from M/s Sehrish Traders. The company was found involved in the tax evasion.

Sources told reporter that Collector Customs Adjudication-II Muhammad Javed sent a show-cause notice to M/s Sehrish Traders for allegedly causing the government a loss of Rs3.45million by way of mis-declaration of classification before three weeks.

M/s Sehrish Traders imported a consignment of radiators and different kinds of engine parts of vehicles which were cleared by mis-declaring the classification under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) from Pakistan International Container Terminal (PICT). They allegedly availed undue and inadmissible benefit as well as exemption of Sales Tax.

It is pertinent to mention here that M/s Sehrish Traders itself has imported identical/same items under correct PCT heading 2456.4624. Apart from it, all other importers of radiators and different kinds of engine parts have either been declared by the importers or assessed by the collectorates.
