Customs Adjudication recovers outstanding dues from M/s Y K Traders

KARACHI: The Customs Adjudication-II has issued a final notice to a defaulter named M/s Zia-Ur-Rehman and Company Karachi and recovered Rs2.89million from M/s Y K Traders.

M/s Zia-Ur-Rehman and Company was found involved in the tax evasion. The company imported mobile phones and phone accessories on July 9, 2017 and used the wrong PCT. After a careful investigation, the Customs Adjudication-II served a final notice on the company and cleared the outstanding amount of Rs2.55million.

Sources told reporter that another company M/s Y K Traders got cleared a consignment of different parts of refrigerator on August 3 and evaded tax amount of Rs2.89million. After an investigation, Customs Adjudication issued a show cause notice on the company on July 30, but the company failed to clear the outstanding tax amount.

The then Collector Customs Adjudication-II, Muhammad Javed, issued a final notice to the company on September 12. After receiving the notice, the company deposited Rs2.89million in favor of the Customs Department.
