MULTAN: The Customs Adjudication has issued order for the confiscation of a smuggled Toyota Fielder worth Rs 1.5 million.
The car was seized by the Customs Intelligence and Investigation from Dera Ghazi Khan during anti-smuggling operation of the field intelligence unit. The smuggled Fielder car was registered with BV-412, model 2002. The seizure case constituted by Customs Investigation and Intelligence was registered with 108/2015. Additional Collector Amjad-ur-Rehman has issued the case after two hearings.
According to proceeding of case, owner Muhammad Aslam son of Muhammad Hassan a resident of Loralai was given chance of defence through couple of notices, he never submitted any written reply or appeared for their defence in the Customs Adjudication and owner has not claimed its owner ship of the seized vehicle through show cause notices.
Customs Investigation and Intelligence has proved during the proceeding of the seizure case that the vehicle was brought into the country through illegal and unauthorized routes without payment of Customs duty and taxes. The Customs duty of the seized vehicle assessed Rs 1.5 million. Thus the charges raised in the show cause notice stand established after the proceeding.
Meanwhile Additional Collector Customs Adjudication has issued orders against the smuggled car to confiscated in terms of Clause 89(i) of Section 156(1) of the Customs Act 1969 .
