Customs AFU notifies penalties for filing GDs after 10 days

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Collector Air Freight Unit (AFU) (Imports) New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA) notified penalties for not filing Goods Declaration (GDs) within the prescribed period of ten days.

The notice stated that in pursuance of Finance Act 2019-20 the penalties under section 156 read with section 79, if the goods declaration is not filed within the prescribed period of ten days the owner of such goods shall be liable to a penalty at the rates of revised Rs5000/- for initial five days of default and at the rate of Rs10,000/- per day each day of default thereafter.
