Customs AFU receives bodies of 11 Pakistanis drowned in Libya

RAWALPINDI: Customs’ Air Freight Unit (AFU) at Benazir Bhutto Islamabad International Airport (BBIIAP) has received bodies of 11 Pakistanis, who died after a boat carrying migrants capsized off the coast of Zuwara in Libya on January 13.

The bodies were brought to BBIIAP from Jeddah through Saudi Airline flight number SV-722. Director Libyan Crisis Cell Shozab Abbas, officials and officers from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a large number of relatives and family members of the deceased were present at the airport to receive the bodies and take them to native towns for burial, sources said.

The bodies were identified as Ikram Ullah, son of Azmat Ullah, hails from Mandi Bahauddin; Waleed Ikram, son of Muhammad Ikram of Gujrat; Mirza Ghulam Farid, son of Mirza Ghulam Nabi, resident of Gujar Khan; Tanzeel ur Rehman, son of Muhammad Younas, belongs to Sialkot; Muhammad Aziz, son of Abdur Rehman of Sargodha; Luqman Ali, son of Shaukat Ali; Kashif Jamil, son of Muhammad Jamil; Azmat Bibi, wife of Muhammad Ismail; Mazhar Hussain, son of Mumtaz Hussain and Farhan Ali, son of Muhammad Sharif.
