Customs agents demand proper parking at Customs House

KARACHI: The issue of public parking has become grave at Customs House Karachi, customs agents and general public told Customs Today on Tuesday.

There is no parking facility of parking for customs agents and general public. There is small parking adjacent to Customs House where Rs 15-20 are charged for motorcycle and car parking respectively while Rs 40-50 are charged for High-Roof car and other vehicles . On the other side, Rs 15 are charged from cars and motorcycles outside the ground.

A staffer of Customs Agents told this scribe that whenever they park their bike outside , then traffic police officials pick up their vehicles and they had to pay Rs 200-300 for recovery of their bike. The entry of general public vehicles in Customs House is banned. He said there should be proper parking in the Customs House as they have to pay Rs 45 if they come thrice in the Customs House in a day. The customs agents have appealed to top brass of Customs House that proper parking should arranged there with minimum parking fee.
