Customs agents hail security measures around Customs House

KARACHI: Former general secretary of Karachi Customs Agents Association (KCAA), Arshad Jamal has appreciated the strict security measures, taken by the Preventive Collectorate outside and inside the Customs House, Karachi.

In a statement, Arshad Jamal said that the courageous step of the Collector of Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Preventive S M Tariq Huda with a view to tighten the security in the premises of Customs House has certainly affected the VIP culture, which was on the rise in the premises of Customs House. As in the light of his directives, he said, all the visitors including customs clearing agents, Pakistan Customs officers/officials and others are mandatory to display identity cards at the time of entry in the Custom House.

He further said that the stringent security measures inside the Customs House, on one hand played a significant role in controlling the entrance of any unauthorized person in the premises of Customs House while, on the other hand it has also been helpful in eliminating illegal car/motorcycle parking just outside the Custom House, which may cause any unpleasant incidence in the prevailing law and order situation.

He further said that the entire community of Customs agents was with the authorities of Pakistan Customs to take an effective step towards improving the security of the Custom House and its adjacent areas.

On the occasion, KCAA former general secretary appealed the Inspector General of Sindh Police to co-operate with the Pakistan Customs authorities’ concerns in this regard.
