LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA) has seized smuggled items worth Rs70 million in an operation at the Lahore airport.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Mehreen Naseem received credible information about smuggling attempt at the international departure lounge of the Airport.
She immediately director Additional Collector Iram Sohail and Deputy Collector Raja Bilal Naseem to enhance vigilance and surveillance on the international arrival lounge.
Officials said 290 mobile phones, 52 iPads, 28 laptops and other artifacts were recovered from two passengers who landed from Qatar. A case has been registered against the suspects and further investigations are still underway till the filing of this report.
