LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs team deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport recovered 33 bottles of liquor from 9 incoming passengers in early hours of Thursday.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Customs Airport Basit Maqsood Abbasi received credible information that some passengers carrying foreign origin liquor are arriving at Allama Iqbal International Airport. He directed Deputy Collector Zainab Mehmood Khawaja to enhance checking of all incoming passengers specially through foreign airlines.
The customs team intercepted various passengers specially those arrived from European countries and Dubai and recovered 33 bottles of foreign origin liquor. All the operation was carried under the supervision of Deputy Collector Zainab Mehmood Khawaja. The passengers were carrying the bottles for their personal use and were asked to surrender the liqour. The Customs Authorities have registered cases and deposited the liqour in the state warehouse
It is necessary to mention here that Collector Basit Maqsood Abbasi directed customs teams deputed at Allama Iqbal International Airport to adopt zero tolerance policy against those passengers carrying liquor.
