Customs Appeals decides 60 appeals during three months

LAHORE: Collectorate of Customs Appeals, Lahore has decided 60 appeals during July 1, 2016-17 to September 28, 2016-17 involving duty and taxes worth Rs 25 million.

The Collector of Customs Appeals Dr. Asif Mehmood Jah decided the appeals both in favour of the department and private parties on the basis of facts and figures.

The collector decided 42 appeals in favour of the department which involved Rs 18 million duty an taxes while the collector decided 18 cases in favour of private party  involving duty an taxes Rs 7.26 million.

The collector decided 15 cases involving duty and taxes Rs 66 million in favour department while three cases involving Rs 1.08 million were decided in favour of private parties during July.

Similarly, the collectorate decided 18 appeals involving Rs 8 million duty and taxes in favour of private parties while 10 cases involving 5 million during the month of August 2016.

In the same way, the collectorate decided 9 cases involving Rs 4 million duty and taxes in favour of department while 5 cases involving duty taxes of Rs 1.48 million during September todate.
