ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal dated in office the hearing on a customs reference filed by M/s Warid Telecom (Private) Limited against Model Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.
A division bench of the tribunal comprising members, Syed Muhammad Anwar and Muhammad Nasir Khan, heard the matter. M/s Warid Telecom had filed the case against Model Coollectorate of Customs, Islamabad in 2016.
Through the petition, the company had challenged a decision announced by the adjudication for sustaining claims of recoverable customs duty of around Rs 40 million. The tribunal had held the hearing last week and told the counsels to ensure their presence on the next hearing. The tribunal had issued the directives through assisting counsels who had appeared instead of the main counsels.
