ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal dated in office hearing of three customs references following absence of concerned counsels from the tribunal.
Customs Appellate Tribunal’s Single Bench comprising Member, Syed Muhammad Anwar heard the cases filed by M/s Lucky Enterprises and another by Haq Nawaz.
The bench sought more details on the matters by the sides before deciding the cases, and then adjourned hearing for next week.
Both of these cases had been filed during 2016. The cases were still pending with the tribunal. Earlier, these cases were heard by a single bench while now they were being heard by a division bench as per rules of tribunal.
M/s Lucky Enterprises had had filed the case against MCC. It had challenged a customs duty assessment sustained by the adjudication.
Haq Nawaz had filed cases regarding release of vehicles which were seized by customs authorities amid attempt to smuggling various items.
