Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-II adjourns hearing of customs reference

ISLAMABAD: A single bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-II has adjourned the hearing of aCcustom reference filed against Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal Bench-II comprising Member Technical Muhammad Nasir Khan heard the reference and adjourned the hearing until the next month.

Muhammad Usmanul Haq, the appellant, had sought release of the vehicle auctioned by an embassy in Islamabad in 1983. The tribunal directed the counsels involved to submit all related documents on the next hearing.

Haq, who claims to be owner of the vehicle, had pleaded tribunal to order customs authorities to release his vehicle since he had paid the due amount for the Toyota Corolla, model 78.

During previous hearings, the department had sought time from tribunal in order to submit related documents.  Advocate, Saddiqa Bibi had filed the case at tribunal on behalf of Haq.
