ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal, Islamabad Bench-II has reserved judgment of a case involving duty evasion of Rs 4,704,426.
The decision was reserved by the Customs Appellate Tribunal’s Division Bench comprising of Chairman Ghulam Murtaza Bhatti and Member Technical, M Nazim Saleem.
According to details, Rs 4,704,426 duty was evaded on 27 imported electricity generators which were confiscated by the department after finding that duty was not paid on imported items/generators.
In this case, Customs Appellate Tribunal was approached by appellant Malik Jehangir, who had challenged Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigating , Islamabad’s decision narrating that, said duty as evaded and payable to department.
Director General Intelligence and Investigations, Deputy Director Shahid Jan and Investigation Officer, Shahid Majeed were made respondent in the petition.
