Customs Appellate Tribunal hears 20 important cases on Wednesday

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal heard 20 important cases on Wednesday. The members of the benches from Lahore and Karachi heard the cases in Lahore and adjourned all the cases until the next hearing.

The Customs Appellate Tribunal special division bench comprising Member Judicial Bench-II Karachi Tahir Zia Mehr and Member Technical Bench-II Karachi Nazim Saleem heard 9 cases of Pak Kuwait versus customs Lahore, Furrukh Naseem versus customs Lahore, Malik Zaheer versus customs Lahore, Asad Mehmood versus customs Lahore, directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad versus Safder Ali, Imteaz Ahmed versus customs Lahore, Arshed Mehmood versus customs Lahore and Amjed Amin versus customs Lahore.

Special division comprising Member Judicial Bench-II Omer Arshed Hakeem and Member Technical Bench-II Lahore Imran Tariq heard 11 cases of Sadiq Mehmood versus customs Lahore, Salman Nauman versus customs Lahore, Tahir Rauf versus directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad, JP Construction and trading company versus customs Lahore, Zulifqar Pathan versus directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore.

Furthermore, tribunal heard Humayun Akber versus customs Lahore, Ishtiaq Ahmed directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan, Aamir Muhammad Khan versus directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Lahore, Farhad Ali versus directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Multan, customs Lahore versus Omer Lal and Cress Pak International versus customs Lahore.

In all the cases the counsel of appellants appear before the court and argued in the favour of their respective parties. After hearing the arguments form both sides customs appellate tribunal reserve verdicts in only few case and adjourned all other cases till next date of hearing.
