Customs Appellate Tribunal hears 21 cases

LAHORE: The Customs Appellate Tribunal (single & double) bench heard 21 cases on Wednesday and adjourned all for different dates without those two cases whose verdicts were reserved.

The division bench-II, comprising Omer Arshed Hakeem, Member Judicial and Imran Tariq, Member Technical, heard 12 cases including Samar Mehmood versus Collector Customs Lahore, Collector Customs Lahore versus Al Tawakal Agencies, Director Intelligence and Investigation FBR Lahore versus Tahir Rauf, Collector Customs Faisalabad versus M/s Beacon Enterprises versus Customs Lahore.

Furthermore, same bench heard cases of Sugi Private Limited versus Customs Lahore, M/s Maple Leaf Cement versus Customs Faisalabad, M/s Al Rehman Fabrics versus Customs Faisalabad, M/s Raja Qaiser versus Customs Lahore, M/s SMD Sons versus Director Customs Intelligence and Investigation Faisalabad and Habib ur Rehman versus Customs Sambrial.

The single bench-II, comprising Omer Arshed Hakeem, Member Judicial, heard six cases including Collector Customs Lahore versus Universal Logistic, Collector Customs Sambrial versus Fotile Kitchen, Director Post Clearance Audit (PCA) Lahore versus Qazzafi Enterprises, collector customs Lahore versus Abdullah and Fazalur Rehman versus Customs Faisalabad.

Muhammad Shabbir Gujjar, Member Judicial heard five cases including Director Post Clearance Audit (PCA) versus M/s Descon Engineering, director Post Clearance Audit (PCA) versus M/s Masood Fabrics, Collector Customs Lahore versus Ibrar Aslam and director Post Clearance Audit (PCA) versus Muhammad Ilyas.

Customs Appellate Tribunal reserved verdicts of two appeals of Samar Mehmood versus Collector Customs Lahore and Raja Qaiser versus Customs Lahore.
