Customs Appellate Tribunal issues directives to parties on petitions filed against FBR

ISLAMABAD: The Customs Appellate Tribunal has dated in office the hearing of a couple of customs matters involving field offices of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) after issuing directives to the counsels to ensure their presence before the bench on the next date of hearing.

The bench of the Customs Appellate Tribunal comprising Members tribunal, Syed Muhammad Anwar and Muhammad Nasir Khan, heard the matters and adjourned the hearing for further arguments. M/s Kohinoor Trader and M/s Five Star Trading had filed the references.

Counsels from M/s Kohinoor Traders, M/s Five Star Trading appeared before the bench and demanded time from the bench for finalizing preparations for the case. The bench then directed the counsels to finalized the arguments and relating stuff and then appear before the bench next week.

M/s Kohinoor Traders, M/s Five Star Trading had filed cases against Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad.

During previous hearings the bench had directed the respondent’s counsels to submit detailed record on the case before the bench. Amid on going month of Ramadan the benches at tribunal were holding hearings of fewer cases.
