Customs Appellate Tribunal postpones hearing of cases filed by M/s Yarkan during 2nd week of April

ISLAMABAD: In recent week, Customs Appellate Tribunal single bench reserved decision on Nadeem Khan’s customs case filed against Model Collectorate of Customs, Islamabad. Meanwhile, different benches of tribunal adjourned hearing of around ten customs references involving field offices of board.
Customs Appellate Tribunal’s Single Bench comprising of Member Technical, Muhammad Nasir Khan would hear the both cases. The bench reserved decision on Nadeem Khan’s case. The bench also heard M/S Yarkan International’s customs reference and adjourned hearing. Both cases were filed in 2016 and collector customs was made main respondent in the cases.

The same bench had held hearing of these cases couple of weeks ago. Then, the bench had conveyed the department to ensure its presence before the bench. The hearing was adjourned following absence of department’s main counsel from the tribunal.

Both the appellant had challenged decisions of department’s adjudication before the tribunal pertaining to their imported goods which were seized by the authorities following complaints of misevaluation. Both parties had denied the seizure of goods claiming that no mis-evaluation was made while importing the items.
