ISLAMABAD: Customs Appellate Tribunal reserved decision on couple of cases filed against Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation, Islamabad.
Member Tribunal Ziaudding Wazir heard the cases and reserved decision on the cases after hearing arguments from appellants and department’s counsels.
Both the cases were filed by M/s Kohinoor Traders. M/s Kohinoor Traders had filed cases against DGI&I, Islamabad.
Tribunal had also reserved decision on M/s Wahid Hamid. It had filed case against Customs Peshawar for auctioning imported items despite the tribunal had announced a decision for release of them.
The appellant had filed cases challenging announcements made by the DGI&I, Islamabad. All three cases were filed in 2016.
Earlier, another bench had reserved decision some other cases filed against Directorate General of Investigation and Intelligence. These cases had been contested by M/s Pakistan Royal Group and M/s Charisma Catering Islamabad. They had asked the tribunal to direct the department to release the imported items which were confiscated by the customs authorities under alleged attempts to smuggling.
