LAHORE: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement Lahore collected Rs 28.245 billion in wake of customs duty, sales tax, income tax and federal excise duty during the first six months (July-December) of the current financial year.
The Appraisement under the supervision of Collector Muhammad Sadiq has collected Rs 9.645 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 15.239 billion in wake of sales tax, Rs 3.265 billion as income tax and Rs 94.4 million in wake of federal excise duty during first half of FY2015-16. It has collected Rs 4598.5 million more revenue than previous fiscal year 2014-15.
During the same corresponding period of last fiscal year 2014-15, it had collected Rs 8.394 billion in wake of customs duty, Rs 13.045 billion as sales tax, Rs 2.12 billion under the head of income tax and Rs 86.9 million as federal excise duty. As a whole, it had collected Rs 23.646 billion.
According to the statistics, the Customs Appraisement collected Rs 18.947 billion during first quarter of FY2015-16, while it had collected Rs 15.885 billion during same corresponding period of last year 2014-15. During the second quarter of current fiscal year, Rs 9.298 billion was collected, while Rs 7.77 billion had been collected during last year.
In first quarter of FY2015-16, it collected Rs 6.229 billion as customs duty, Rs 10.485 billion as sales tax, Rs 2.156 billion in wake of income tax and Rs 76.4 million as federal excise duty. During second quarter, the Appraisement generated Rs 3.416 billion under the head of customs duty, Rs 4.754 billion as sales tax, Rs 1.108 billion as income tax and Rs 18.1 million in wake of federal excise duty.
