KARACHI: The Customs Appraisement west collected Rs10.58 billion in the month of January 2017 against the assigned target of Rs9.18 billion. The appraisement exceeded the assigned target by Rs1.403 billion. The customs preventive collected Rs10 billon in head of duty and taxes.
According to details, the customs appraisement collected Rs10.58 billion in head of customs duty whereas collected Rs14.99 billion in head of sales tax, Rs4.92 billion in head of income tax and Rs0.16 billion in head of federal excise duty during the above said period.
Sources said that the customs appraisement west has collected Rs100.47 billion in head of duties and taxes during first seven months of financial year 2016-17.
Sources told that the customs preventive is optimistic in the increase of revenue collection in the month of February 2017 and hoped that the department will successfully achieve its target for the current financial year.
