Customs Appraisement collects Rs1272.90m in December

FAISALABAD: The Model Customs Collectorate Appraisement collected revenue of Rs 1272.90 million during the month of December 2016 against the set target of Rs 879.33 million by surpassing it by 145 percent.

According to the details, the Customs Appraisement collected revenue under the heads of customs duty (CD), sales tax (ST), income tax (IT) and federal excise duty (FED) during the said period.

According to the statistics available with Customs Today it collected Rs 341.47 million as customs duty (CD) against the set target of Rs 149 million achieved more than 229 percent.

The collectorate surpassed the target set for sale tax by Rs 136 percent as it collected Rs 922.40 million against the set target of Rs 678 million.

It collected Rs 9.01 millions in wake of income tax during the said period against the set target of Rs 52 million and surpassed the target by Rs 17 percent. It collected Rs 0.02 million against 0.33 millions in wake of FED.

Customs Appraisement Deputy Collector Muhammad Usman Tariq says that the department already issued notices to a number of tax defaulters in recent months asking them to clear outstanding tax dues at the earliest to avoid stern action.
